A guide to serving using --I-N-V-I-S-I-O-N--

This is a guide for setting up a fserve in order to share your files in
     #0secVCD-SVCD

  1. Get and unzip the script

http://invision.lebyte.com/ <=== IS THE OFFICIAL INVISION HOME PAGE .

If the download links on the Invision site do now work try #invision on dalnet

Unzip the zip file to some place on your HD, for example to C:\. It will create a subfolder called
Invision2. Never install an IRC script into a folder that contains spaces in its name. For example don't
install your IRC script into the "Program Files" folder, or some features will not work properly.

   2. Start it up

Now you can run mIRC32.exe in your install dir
At this point you can import your settings from a previous IRC installation, if you want to:

   3. General mIRC options

You should know that there are two main places where you can configure stuff in Invision. The first
place is in the mIRC File > Options menu, and the second place is in Invision's menu.

As far as the server is concerned .. select Random Dalnet server .. or scroll down to select a specific
dalnet server.(if in the US duh ... select a US dalnet server like Liberty, Wombat ,Astro..whatever..
But it SHOULD be a dalnet server)

Enter the mIRC options, go to the Connect section. All the options here are obvious, so fill them in.
   Here is an example :

Now go to the DCC section, and set everything like this :

You should take a look at the other mIRC options, but these are the only ones that absolutely need.

Now you can click the connect button, then type /join #0secVCD-SVCD

   4. Setup the fserve

Now you need to setup your file server. For this you have to enter the "File Server Manager" in the
   Invision menu.
Set the number of sends to 1 if you have a 15k upload cap, or higher in your bandwidth allows you to.
Set the maximum number of queues to whatever you want (5 to 10 should be fine for a 15k upload).
Set the ad delay to between 5 and 10 minutes
Check the "Enable on start" checkbox.
In the MOTD box, type any nice message you want.
Please always try to use ctcp triggers only.
In the "Advertising channels" tab, uncheck "All channels" and add #0secVCD-SVCD
Your settings should look like this :

    Now enter the "Triggers" tab.
   Check "Enable #1".
Enter anything you want as the trigger.
Choose the root directory. It's the directory where people will be able to browse and download files
   from you.
You can repeat this for the other triggers if you want to share more directories.

This tab should look like this now :

   5. Start it up !

Now everything should be fine. Right click in a channel window, and click Server Controls > File Server
   > Start now. Your fserve's ad should be displayed, similar to this:

[7:01pm] <Joe_blow>File Server Online Triggers:«/ctcp Joe_blow Movies for you!» Sends:«0/2»Queues:«0/10»Accessed:«0 times» Online:«0/4»RCPS:«0 cps by n/a» Served:«0B in 0 files» Current BW:«0 cps» AQT:«No Wait» MOTD: -= Great movies here! =-  I-n-v-i-s-i-o-n

That's it ! It works ! Now have someone test it for you. If all is fine welcome to the world of serving in #0secVCD-SVCD Distro access will come to you soon :)
